The new pediatric wing opened to patients this month, adding 32 private rooms designed so a parent can stay overnight comfortably, plus a dedicated pediatric procedure suite.
The wing also includes a family lounge with space for caregivers to work or rest, a school-age playroom, and a quiet room for families receiving difficult news.
The project was funded in large part by community gifts to the Children's Ward fund, including a lead gift from a family whose son was treated here for four years.
Families with an upcoming admission will be contacted directly by their care team with their new room location.
